Mommy Love

Bismillah,

It’s one of those days where you realize how much your mom loves you. SubhanAllah, how she is willing to sacrifice so much for you and how any pain of yours is like a direct pain of hers. It is just amazing… and it’s at moments like these when you realize how you do not do enough for your mom at all.

May Allah swt make each one of us worthy of our mothers’ love – Ameen!

It is related from Talhah ibn Mu’âwiyah as-Salamî who said:
I came to the Prophet and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I want to perform Jihad in the way of Allah. He asked, “Is your mother alive?” I replied, “Yes.” The Prophet then said: “Cling to her feet, because paradise is there.” (at-Tabarânî).

And here is an awesome du’aa from the Qur’an:

رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
“Lord! Have mercy on them (my parents) just as they had mercy on me when I was little…”
(Qur’an – Surat Bani Isra’il 17:24)

(Yeah, Quick post cuz Exam tomorrow! HS – that exam post – after exams inshaAllah 😉 )

What’s Love?

Bismillah,

Just had some love on my mind… thought I’d share 🙂

When friends are forced to be apart from each other for whatever length of time, it will be a difficult period for the two of them. They will be forced to go through their normal routines apart from each other. Each one may miss the qualities that the other contributed to the friendship. There is a saying that, “absence makes the heart grow fond“. This may be an opportunity for each of them to realize how important each one is to the other’s life.. They will miss each other, and long for the time when they can be together again.

And:

To love each other for the sake of Allah is one of the most beautiful things Allah has given us. The salaf used to say: The sweetness of living is meeting our brothers. Umar used to miss Muadh and Abu Ubaidah radiallahu anhum so much that he used to twist and turn in bed until he met them in the morning. He used to say: Removal of all sadness is in meeting our brothers.

So, what does Hubb (Arabic word for love) mean?

It means to love & to want something and desire it – you want it to be yours, and to use one’s wisdom/cleverness in trying to obtain it

It’s based on 3 reasons:
1. Pleasure
2. Benefit
3. Virute over other things

So, Hubb is the love with your head still somewhat on straight. The first love that was described, the love fee sabilillah, is the love that will keep you happy though… and it’s through that love that you will be shaded on the day without shade and that Allah swt Himself and the angels will love you.

If you’ve got that love – cherish it. If not, work hard towards it. In the end, it will be love which will last for eternity bi’idnillah!
